VIA Live

VIA Live is Vimond’s module for running and managing a live OTT (over‑the‑top) service as part of the Vimond VIA platform.

It gives broadcasters and streaming providers a single place to plan, schedule and monitor linear channels and live events, using EPG data and live feed monitoring to keep everything on track.

VIA Live works together with Vimond VIA’s core services and APIs to handle live ingest, scheduling, and playout, while Vimond VIA manages your content catalogue, metadata, packaging and distribution.

VIA Live is not a standalone product; it adds live capabilities to Vimond VIA and our solutions offering.

VIA Live supports both:

• Linear live channels: 24/7 or scheduled TV channels with an electronic program guide (EPG).
• Event-based live: such as sports, concerts, or one-off events, where you need precise control over start/end times, assets, and metadata.

Both use the same interface and workflows, so your team can run continuous channels and pop-up events side by side.

VIA Live combines your channels and EPG data into a single unified timeline view. You can:

• Import EPGs through APIs or workflows
• Use the imported EPG as the basis for creating programmes
• Link programmes to content assets in Vimond VIA
• Use EPG data to control the Via Live user interface (UI) scheduler for playout

This reduces manual copy/paste, minimises errors and speeds up planning.

Operators work in a channel timeline view where they can:

• See multiple channels at once
• Monitor what’s currently on air and what’s coming next
• Check inbound live feeds with video and audio monitoring
• Quickly react to schedule changes or issues

The goal is to give a clear, at-a-glance view of the entire live operation so operators don’t need to jump between many tools.

VIA Live is a cloud-based live encoding and playout solution that integrates with upstream encoding and packaging technology. Today it supports:
